An Inter House Debate Competition was conducted on Saturday 10 August 2024 in Columbus Public School. The topic of discussion for Sub-Senior category was "Is Digital Technology Making Children's Life Better" and for seniors "Should Euthanasia be legalized?". This topic touches on deep ethical, emotional, and practical considerations, and it’s crucial that we approach it with respect and thoughtful deliberation.
The competition promotes problem solving and innovative thinking and helps students to build links between words and ideas that make concepts more meaningful.
Students were excited to keep their views on the topic. Students gather to engage in a meaningful debate, a forum where ideas are exchanged, and perspectives are broadened. The essence of debate is not merely to argue but to deliver into the heart of an issue, to challenge our thinking, and to seek a deeper understanding. The event was resounding success leaving both participants and the audience with valuable insights and deeper understanding of topic.
