The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi up to senior secondary level and provide s a complete course of study from Pre-Schooling to Senior Secondary stage. The medium of instruction is English and g reat stress is laid to develop fluency and accuracy in the language. The importance of vernaculars is also stressed and a high standard of proficiency in Hindi & Sanskrit is also developed.

Pre-Primary Stage Curriculum

Kindergarten Programme Classes

Pre-primary education is designed primarily to introduce very young children to a school type environment that is to provide a bridge between home and a school based atmosphere. At Pink Petal School we believe that pre-school educat ion is all about stimulating the learner’s sense and to ensure progress of brain development. The school provides a complete course of study through active learning. The medium of instruction is English and great emphasis is give n to develop fluency and accuracy in the language by encouraging children to express them freely and confidently .

The system is designed to create a comfortable, cheerful and encouraging environment. A step-by-step structured curriculum is followed which builds a strong foundation to enable the child to handle the future detailed cour ses without burdening the child. Through various group and individual class activities, each child is given am ple opportunity to enhance personality traits, to add dimension to learning, to boost up reasoning power and s timulate logical thinking ability. While good manners and etiquettes are emphasised upon. Respect for elders and love for peers is inculcated in the children.

Promote Active Learning Through Play

Play is very significant part of what life means to children at this stage of their development. The role of play is not limited to make children happy and excited, only thus great emphasis is given to promote learning through Play. Play way method is a means of subjective & emotional development of the child that is development in terms of intellect, skills & emotional well being. It encourages creative skills & self-expression. Our pay based curr iculum includes activities such as sand & water play, art, stories, role play, songs; small world play etc help children to develop their social & emotional, physical, cognitive, communication & language skills.

Circle Time- Circle time is a great way for preschoolers to get a sense of community with other kids of their age & attention span. We believe that starting with circle time helps to introduce the topics & plans of the day.

Play Station at School

The process of learning is made easy & interesting by creating play station through teaching aids like blocks, puzzles, toys for kids. It helps to develop their fine motor skills & engage them to enhance their creativity.

Project Based Learning (PBL)

Project Based Learning is a student centered pedagogy that involves a dynamic class room approach in which, it is believed that students acquires a deeper knowledge through active exploration of real world challenges and problems. It encourages child to share his/her experiences confidently. It also contains tasks to do the concepts and skills of children develop. A lot more happens in the classroom like playing and learning with multiple materials, using pictures & games on the interactive board, conversation & peer learning. Children work on developing their observation, speaking, listening & writing skills. In short, children get clarity about themselves i.e, learn about their significance and their connections with real world. PBL makes the learning come alive for children.

Various Creative Activities are designed with the aim of learning with fun. Through teaching aids like block s, abacus, puzzles, toys etc., the process of learning is made easy and interesting. The children are intro duced to thematic poems, rhymes, songs and special emphasis is given to recitation and story - telling. Music and Dance activities are an integral part of the curriculum. The children are exposed to a plethora of creative activities which include painting, colouring, drawing, printing, paper folding, tearing, pasting, collage makin g and clay modelling. These creative activities are conducted by well-qualified teachers who specialize in thei r respective fields.

Sports Activities are designed to enable a child to be physically fit and to develop all the motor movements of the body. These include in-door and out-door games bundled with simple exercises, drills, fun races, football etc. comp lying with the child's interest. The pre-primary wing has a well equipped toy room where children have access to i nnumerable indoor games, puzzles, blocks and toys.

Cultural Activities are framed with the aim to educate with entertainment - to build stage confidence and inculcate social values. Children are encouraged to speak and to perform on the stage. Inter-class competitions are held to instil a feeling of confidence and to discover and provide exposure to these budding talents. Fancy dress, art, wr iting, action-songs, elocution, singing, dance, games, collage making and clay modelling competitions are events in which children are encouraged to participate with whole hearted enthusiasm. The parents of the participants ar e invited to witness their wards perform in these competitions held every week. This regular interaction enables and encourages the parents to be more actively involved in their child's progress.

Primary Stage Curriculum

With the aim of qualitative improvement of primary education there has been a deliberate reduction in curriculum load. In the revised curriculum the content is drawn from immediate environment and the strategies adopted are such that enhan ce the skills of observation, collection, classification experimentation and inferences. Learning is an a ctivity thro ugh which we nurture free and creative expression of skills, habits, attitudes and values.

We aim to achieve healthy habits and development in psychomotor domains through active involvement of children. Oral -aural skills are emphasized in the area of language and environmental sciences. The language used in teaching and l earning facilitates smooth understanding of concepts besides encouraging children for self-learning.

Upper Primary Stage Curriculum

At the middle school stage, we integrate science and technology and social sciences to the curriculum. In language, the emphasis is on developing all skills i.e. listening, reading, writing and grammar. In science, the focus is on de veloping key concepts and encourage learners to design experiments using local resources. The focus is also on the re levant information about the geography, history, civics and economies of the country and the world at large.

Secondary Stage Curriculum

The students of classes IX-X strictly follow the syllabi as prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Educatio n, New Delhi and prepare to excel in the board examinations. A flexibility of methodology and learning systems is strongly encouraged so that learning by rote is completely negated.The following subjects are offered for study at the secondary level: English Language and Literature, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science and Informa tion Technology

The focus is on developing the conceptual aspects of science and mathematics. This ensures ability to apply the ski lls to real life problems by enhancing abilities to analyze, to see interrelationship, to think and reason. The st ress is on nurturing the faculty to articulate logically. Particular attention is paid on developing analytical a ppreciation of literature, art and music. The curriculum focuses on creating awareness and need for national unit y, national integration and protection of the environment.

Senior Secondary Stage Curriculum

The students of classes XI - XII also follow the syllabus prescribed by the board for the subjects of their choice. The children have a choice between streams of medical sciences, non-medical sciences ,commerce and humanities . Th e children prepare to excel in their board examinations and equip themselves for various competitions for further s tudies in elite institutions of the country and abroad.

The curriculum at this stage strives to develop effective, creative and imaginative use of (written and spoken) language and various intricacies of communication skills. The effort is to develop conceptual competence to cop e with professional courses in future and enhance process skills, problem solving abilities and application of basic concepts in real life situation. Self-learning through the use of reference material and critical enquiry of a subject is the focus at this stage. Students are therefore encouraged to understand and analyze the inter relationship between physical and human environment and their impact on each other. Students are provided spac e and activities to become sensitive to the national and international challenges and to clarify personal val ues towards issues concerning community and become responsible as well as effective members of the country.


Testing Times

The school believes in comprehensive and continuous assessment of the child. The comprehensive evaluation is intended to provide a holistic profile of the learner through both scholastic and non-scholastic aspects of education spread over the total span of instructional time in school.

The full academic session is divided into three terms for Classes(9-12) and in two terms for Classes(1-8) . Great emphasis is placed throughout the session on child’s academic performance in the class. Project work, Note book, C lass work and Home work are an integral part of the internal assessment policy adopted by the school. The assessme nt in each term includes weightage of marks for Terminal Examinations, Unit Tests, Project Work, Class work/ Home work/ Maintenance of Notebooks and various co-scholastic aspects of learning.

Promotion to the next class depends upon the whole year’s performance.
