'The power of speech is the ability to express a lot in a few words'
The goal of organising a speech contest is to give students the opportunity to improve their speaking abilities and to establish contacts within a group of people. The benefits of speech competition are plentiful, which includes improved confidence, written and oral communication skills, and critical thinking skills.
These traits and skills will prove useful for both students' formal education and their future careers.
Keeping this in view, Inter-House English Speech Competition was organised for the students of classes VI - VIII at Columbus Public School on 05 Nov 22. The topic for the same was "Textbooks shouldn't be replaced by technology".
The children expressed themselves confidently and conveyed the importance of textbooks.
The spirit of healthy competition and urge to win the competition was quite visible among the participants.
