Description:
Spellathon is a spelling bee competition which requires students to identify the words and spell them out in different conditions with varying difficulty levels.
“Spelling is important because it helps cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters.”
The school regularly organizes various CCA activities in order to ensure the holistic development of its children and hone their personalities. In line with the same, the school organized an INTER-HOUSE SPELLATHON Competition on 06-05-2023 in two categories viz., VI-VIII (Sub Senior) & IX-XII (Senior); in the school, auditorium to give students a platform to learn spellings in different ways, enrich their vocabulary, learn concepts and develop the use of correct English.
The rounds for the competition were as follows:
Round I: Synonyms
Round II: Homophones
Round III: Spell Bee
Round IV: Word Puzzle
Round V: Rapid Fire
In the Sub Senior category, there were six participants in each house. The winning house was Subhash House and the first runner-up was Nehru House.
In the Senior category, ten participants were selected for each house. The winning house was Subhash house, and the Gandhi house was the first runner-up.
The participants of different houses gave their best and enjoyed strengthening their vocabulary. Healthy competition was encouraged between different houses.
This competition was successfully conducted under the support and guidance of the Principal Mr Manoj Kumar and Vice Principal Dr Kamesh Mittal.
