“A healthy body leads to a healthy mind.” – Dr. Shubham Sandesh Jain
The school organised the Annual Sports Day Event for the tiny-tots of Pre-Primary Wing of the school on Sunday, 26th February. The kids from classes Nursery, L.K.G & U.K.G participated in various fun-filled track & field events, and won many a hearts of the audience along with their medals. The event was inaugurated with release of balloons by the Chief Guest Dr. Shubham Sandesh Jain, Chairman of the school Mr. Kesar Das Khera, and Principal Mr. Manoj Kumar. The events started off with an enthralling March Past in amalgamation with the vibrant drum beats, leading to the customary torch relay.
To introduce the young Columbians with the spirit of sports and healthy competition, a variety of interesting track & field activities including Fun Races, Drills, Aerobics, Tug of War etc. were organised during the event. The bambinos of Nursery participated in innovative theme oriented activities like Bunny-Carrot Race and Hoopla Race, while the students of LKG exhibited their skills in PT Drill and Fun Race. The tad elder kids of UKG participated in Aerobics and Tug of War. The students participated in each discipline with much enthusiasm, and won the hearts of the cheering audience. Even the parents, who came to support their little ones were provided an opportunity to participate in fun sports activities, and participated with much joy and exhilaration.
On this occasion, Principal Mr. Manoj Kumar in his address motivated students to participate in sports activities and appreciated their splendid performance. The Chief Guest, renowned endodontist of the town, Dr. Shubham Sandesh Jain in his speech encouraged everyone to inculcate sports and physical fitness exercises in day to day life, and emphasised that education and sports are integral part of our lives.
The visionary Managing Director Mr. Manoj Kumar Khera too stressed on the importance of sports activities in the physical and mental growth of children. He appealed to all the parents to encourage their children to take up sports as a career option and create awareness among them about the incredible benefits of sports.
The programme culminated with the address of Pre-Primary Wing Coordinator of the school Ms. Regina Simon who placed the vote-of-thanks on record, expressing her heartfelt gratitude to everyone present for encouraging, motivating and supporting her team.
The occasion was graced with the kind presence of Mr. Lalit Khera, teaching & non-teaching staff of the school, parents and other dignitaries.
